Marmorino

Marmorino, or "little marble" in Italian, is a traditional Italian finish used as far back as Roman times but made popular during the Italian Renaissance. It is made from crushed marble and limestone and can be tinted in just about any color. It is matte to satin in appearance and can be applied to give a variety of textures and effects. The movement in the plaster gives a more subtle mottled appearance. Traditional Marmorino is one of the most popular Venetian plaster finishes today, as it’s classical stone, and naturalness is difficult to surpass. This traditional Italian finish will dramatically enhance any decorating project and is suitable for any decor.

Stucco Veneziano

The base of this product is aged hydrated slacked lime. It is a natural Italian lime plaster made from a mixture of ground stone, which includes lime, marble, and other minerals. Its glossiness is the effect of high quality slaked limestone, which can be polished to the highest luster by trowel and cloth. Applied in multiple layers by skilled artisans the surface layer is then burnished to a high sheen. The resulting finish is as smooth as glass to the touch and is visually translucent in appearance, providing the effect of polished marble. With origins dating back to the 15th century, Stucco Veneziano’s classical mirror like shine and translucent marble-like appearance is what comes to mind when you think of Italian Venetian Plaster.

The Milano finish is a traditional Stucco Veneziano plaster blended with metallic mica powders to produce a reflective finish to satisfy traditional to contemporary decors. Because of its metallic ingredients this finish is matte in appearance from one view but from another view it displays reflective qualities. This product has a low level of transparency and is opaque in nature. It does showing some movement if it is slightly burnished. Milano can be tinted to virtually any color with reflective metallic shades of silver, bronze, copper and gold. Milano looks amazing on ceilings as it reflects light from different angles and also works well for stenciling. The incredible colors produced from this finish can add a sense of elegance to most any design project.
